Updates

For some reason I started noting down every update I made to Frontierverse since its launch in 1999. As you can see, the site slowly grew into the vast archive it is today.

2007

• 3rd July - Economics page added to the Info section.

2006

• 27th October - Additions to the Game Codes and Rumours pages.
• 8th August - Minor style and layout changes. Also, finally tabulated the French protection codes.
• 15th July:
  1. Added Adder review (it was accidently left out during the big redesign). Thanks to Kyle for spotting this.
  2. Additional Rumours page info, thanks to Jon Stock.
  3. Links page organised into categories.
  4. New French version of the site completed and online! Thanks to Nicolas Brax for this mammoth undertaking.
• 22nd March: Minor additions to the Bugs, Starting and Trading pages.
• 16th March:
  1. Minor adjustments to the information on the Bugs page, thanks to Paul Roberts' exhaustive testing.
  2. Added some screenshots from the CD32 version of Frontier, again thanks to Paul.
• 15th March:
  1. Added 'IRC' info to the Links page in place of the old IRC page.
  2. Started a gallery of screenshots from the OpenGL version of Frontier.
• 14th March:
  1. Proof reading and submission to Nicolas Brax for new French translation.
  2. New design (FM-5) goes live.
  3. Frontierverse's EBBS uplink modified to reflect new site design.
  4. A correction to the Rank page thanks to Brian Wakeling.
  5. Set up '301' redirects for deleted and renamed pages from the old design.
• 13th March - All pages complete. Ships page totally rewritten.
• 9th March - Almost all sections completed. Lots of changes to the site. To summarise so far:
  1. Reorganisation of site into five distinct categories for ease of use: data, files, guides, info and links.
  2. Recreation of Permits page.
  3. Tutorial page broken down into more manageable sections.
  4. Complete revision of source, and vast modification of old content.
  5. Streamlined, minimal-image design.
  6. Removal of anachronistic Config page; the information was largely useless.
  7. Removal of IRC page. #afe link on main navigation bar.
  8. Removal of Music page. The midi files are still available for download.
  9. Many paragraphs of text rewritten.
  10. Webrings removed since they no longer serve any function.
  11. Images directory reorganised.
• 7th March - Work begins on FM-5, a new design to conform with the rest of sharoma.com, as well as the XHTML 1.1 standard.

2005

• 18th March - CD32, Polish and Czech versions of the Amiga game added thanks to Tournié.
• 2nd February - French version of the Amiga game added, along with Atari versions too - thanks to Tournié and Michael Asse.

2004

• 1st September - frontierverse.net no longer operative. It has been claimed by a some moronic third party.
• 13th August - Some more slight design changes in the form of an alternate stylesheet, and a new main image thanks to Danie Hughes. (FM-4.5).
• 25th July - Design changes, and an overhaul of the Frontierverse EBBS uplink.
• 18th June - Slight redesigns and updating of source to conform.
• 16th June - Some deletions around the site of superfluous content.
• 14th June - Sharoma now hosted with 34sp.
• 16th May - Added French game manual for download, and a new method for playing Frontier on XP (thanks to Jean François Tournie and RedWizard respectively).
• 13th May - Tidied the Links page and fixed some broken links.
• 9th May - More updates:
  1. French protection codes added, thanks to Jean François Tournie.
  2. Minor design changes, ie the fonts this time (yet again!).
  3. Two new save games added, thanks to RedWizard and Jean François Tournie.
  4. Added RedWizard's 'guide to smuggling' - see the Files page.
• 7th May - A big update, see below:
  1. Incorporation of the Amiga - Amiga saves now on Saves page, Amiga game download available.
  2. Addition of Politics page. Permits page deleted and permit info now part of Politics page.
  3. Addition of Planets page.
  4. Addition of Stars page.
  5. Extra info on the Info page in the form of a scan of an original review of the Atari ST version.
  6. Navigation system slightly altered.
• 2nd April - Frontierverse is now available in French thanks to Nicolas Brax.
• 1st April - Added the Wormholes page.
• 15th March - Some very minor design and content changes.
• 4th March - Added Wormhole calculator download.

2003

• 12th December - More minor design changes.
• 13th October - Extra info on the Info page on game versions, and other minor additions around the site.
• 4th September - A new save game added.
• 27th August - Added some (probably boring) additions to the image archives (Site info page).
• 26th April - A new trade enterprise thanks to Phil Ashton.
• 6th March - Minor corrections and maintenance around the site.

2002

• 20th December - Frontier Font version 2 added to 'Fonts' download (thanks to Mike Cook).
• 8th December - Gallileo save game updated - thanks to RedWizard.
• 8th September:
  1. Lots of submissions to the Config page. Extra help with Windows XP and 2000.
  2. Addition to the Rumours page. Some info on Tables page slightly adjusted.
  3. New save game added to Saves page thanks to Matt Smith.
• 2nd September - Overhaul of the Links page, implementing a table system.
• 1st September:
  1. The Elite Ring graphics and webring code re-added to site now that the ring is active again.
  2. A new image for Frontierverse thanks to Daniel Hughes (and Andrei Tanase).
• 26th August - The Rank Teller program has had a small error rectified, thanks to Matt Parkins and Rob Bousfield.
• 20th August - More minor design tinkering, this time the table cell backgrounds.
• 19th August - Restructure of Files directory into separate folders.
• 18th August - Seven versions of the game now available for download, including other language versions.
• 15th August - Added Fonts download, some new links and design changes.
• 11th August - "Hyperdrive" document download added, courtesy of Alex Whiteside.
• 10th August - Minor tinkering around, small additions and some typo corrections.
• 25th July - Design changes (only slight).
• 5th June - Extra Combat page added courtesy of Commander Eardley.
• 24th April - A new trade route added to Trading page.
• 22nd April - Police save game added to Saves page courtesy of Adam Green (RedGamma).
• 12th April - Frontierverse joins the FEU Ring (related graphic added to Links page).
• 3rd March - Added excellent themed banner ads script to Links page (cheers Dan).
• 2nd January - Addition to the Tutorial (Military Drives).

• 29th November - Two new trade routes added.
• 27th November - "Frontier Objects" document download added, courtesy of Theunis de Jong.
• 11th November - EBBS uplink once again added after long break.
• 8th November - Links page reorganised and some minor tweaks.
• 28th June - Added Missions page and Mining page.
• 14th June - Added game download of Frontier (shareware version), and the HTML manual.
• 9th June - Copy protection codes added (Codes page).
• 8th June - Config page and Links page updated.
• 5th April - Added Credits to Site Info page.
• 2nd April - Slight design changes (hyperlink colours altered).
• 28th March - Design changes. New pictures on Pictures page.
• 23rd March - Tidied up the Links page.
