Britain's Best Sitcom
In 2003, a contest was held by the BBC to determine Britain's best situation comedy (this excludes comedy dramas, such as Auf Wiedersehen, Pet ). The public was polled and from these votes 100 selections were drawn up. The BBC then picked ten sitcoms to showcase, which they did in 2004, and they cho...

Re: The Singularity And Me
This is why I avoid most of the Internet now. News articles, even ones written by people, became lazy a long time ago. It's not uncommon to see glaring typos in BBC articles. I also hate how each paragraph is them just telling you the same thing with different phrasing. I go to an article for data, ...

Review of Sink the Bismarck!
For the author of the Hornblower series this was a relatively poor showing. Especially when compared to The Good Shepherd , which was excellent and full of detail. It was a lot shorter than I expected with hardly any character development or technical information. It was rather like a brief summary ...

(1992) This was the first McKenna book I read, all the way back in early 2011. I was just getting into his theories back then so I eagerly ate this one up. It's a while since I...

Review of Life and Times of Michael K
I couldn't put it down despite the overwhelming sadness of the story. It was a very moving read, written simply but rich with meaning. Highly recommended.

Re: Review of two ASOIF books
Except he's writing fantasy, not history! Although he sure plagiarised history for ideas. (If you can plagiarise history?)

Review of two ASOIF books
George R.R. Martin is the man famous for taking 13 years (and counting) to write a sequel. Sadly, I have read all the completed books in A Song of Ice and Fire . Here are reviews of two of them: A Storm of Swords (Book #3) By this book in the series I had lost all enthusiasm. Martin's writing is ter...
