Review
This sampler was pressed when the entire Clash catalogue was remastered and reissued in 1999. On the back it says "The Clash Restored. Original Artwork Remastered '99". Complete Control is the same as the version on the official live album From Here To Eternity, White Riot is the single mix (with the police sirens at the beginning), The Magnificent Seven is the Sandinista! version and Rock The Casbah is the single mix.
A decent selection with something from each major album. Probably was given out to radio stations and the like prior to the release of the remasters. A good sampler to pass on to newbies would be The World According To Clash, which has a good selection of 11 tracks.
Extra
The CD itself says "Promotional - Not For Sale". The sleeve contains album covers from The Clash, Give 'Em Enough Rope, London Calling, Sandinista!, Combat Rock and The Story Of The Clash. Interestingly enough, the Clash logo on it is the same as the logo used on the Cut The Crap album.
